If you love history, here's the place to talk about it! I already know a lot, and will be willing to research to learn more to talk about if necessary. Discuss history here!

Hmm. OK - why not discuss the circumstances that led to America victory in the war of independence?

Well, the real turning point was 1778 when France agreed to help us, although it didn't really turn around until 1781. Daniel Morgan's U.S. cavalry destroyed Banastre Tarleton's British cavalry at the Battle of the Cowpens, and Nathaniel Greene used his army to keep engaging Cornwallis's army in battles at Guliford Court House and Eutaw Springs. In both battles, Greene retreated, but huge casualties were inflicted upon the British. Eventually, we trapped Cornwallis in Yorktown because the French navy beat the British navy to Yorktown, as well as our army and the French army surrounding the city and bombarding it with artillery, which lead the the surrender of Cornwallis, and the beginning of the end for Great Britain.
There's a lot more to talk about, but this is pretty long as is.

I've got one friend who's huge on World War 2, and another who likes it too. I know some of the battles' names, but the only ones I really know about are D-Day and the Bismarck vs. the Hood.
