Edit 1: Lets not start a war about Windows is better than Mac, or the other way around.

windows XP, but I think Windows 7 is going to be better because it's pretty much vista, but it runs as good as XP

Just don't get Vista and you'll be fine. You can get the release canidate of Windows 7 now but it will run out early next year so you'll have to re-install it and back up all your files etc.

Also, for image editing you either want to go for Photoshop, but if you can't afford it get GIMP as it's basically Photoshop without some basic stuff.

Ok, what's up w/ everyone hating/not liking Vista? What makes it such a bad OS? (Besides double the hardware requirements)

I don't Know. I kind of think that since XP has been around for such a long time they don't like the change of look and they think it will be harder to use. I 100% disagree. Windows vista is a great OS

Vista is good, except it takes up a lot more of your computers resources than XP and to be honest it doesn't need to take up those resources. Also, it is generally annoying when it comes up with security warnings every time you try and download something or play a game. I find XP a lot better because I like to do what I want with my computer instead of having false security warnings.

he should get a 9800 gt g-force graphics card
thats the best well for people who dont work in the gaming industry anyway all games run with a 9800 gt on highest quality
