My scratch program "Zinsen" is doing fine at home, does not work properly with the Java player online (calculation does not start), and works again as intended, if i download it into another folder .
My only idea is, that it may have to do with the e and ln function I used.

The java player has many bugs that make it almost useless in some cases. Some scripts will execute faster or slower online, or might not activate at all, making some projects unplayable.
The only way around it is to say first thing in the project notes that it doesn't work online and that you have to download it.

Actually, there are many things you can do to make your project work in the Java player. I've got a FAQ topic here that discusses some of the things you can try. It is usually well worth your time to get your project working in the Java player as more people will see it.

By the way...a new version of the Java player was just released a few days ago and many bugs were fixed. If you find new bugs, please be sure to post them either here in troubleshooting or in the topic above, if you have a work-around.

This really annoys me. Sometimes games clone the background over the player in certain places in the screen. My first game hasn't got the positioning right and It doesn't jump. Also, the microphone functions don't work: <loudness><loud?>

Java and squeak are two different languages. And, of course, duplicating programs in another language yields to weaknesses, as what one language is good at may be a shortcoming for another. What I would love is an open-source java player... but I guess that's still a ways away.

I found out what it was in my case: The local german Scratch works with "," and "." decimal separators. The Java player requires ".". Now I changed everything to "." and the project works.
