hey technoman, nice to have you back. when you were gone, i requested to be an educational game judge, and i also made a separate gallery for submissions. I'm not sure if you are ok with that because i know you have your own gallery for the olympics. just let me know. I think it would be better for each group of judges to have their own gallery, so we dont get confused on submissions.
also, one more thing about judging. will there be a points system, or scoring system, ect. I'm not sure what you had in mind, so just let me know and i can do that. thanks

I am not going to have separate galleries for each category. All of the projects will be in the same gallery and there will be a key in the notes about which projects are in each category. I ask you to please delete the gallery you have made. Sorry.
Also there will be a points system I just haven't thought of one yet.... I will add you as a judge.

ok i will delete it, i just wanted to make it a little more organized thats all.. I looked at the gallery and saw the key. that will make it a little more organzied. when you get the points system ready, just let me know, and i can start judging when everything is ready.

If you look at the rules it CLEARLY states that you can enter up to 1 project per person. I hope that helps!!

ok but is that in total or per category?
also can you take out my project then?

Ok, there is one huge problem I can see. People are submitting projects that they have been working on for months. No one is making anything new for this, they are just submitting the projects they were going to release anyway. I think that you should only accept projects that were created after this thread.

I think that too..... but if I did that for about 30 minutes and a got a HUGE complaint. I want to take a vote on that..... maybe I will ask for the judges to vote.... does that sound good???

for the points system I have an idea in mind...
x/10 for each category of judging.
For best game categories are:
-Originality
-Nice sprites
-Clear instructions
-Good controls
-Smoothness
-Non Glitchy
-Overall (it would be x/60 because you add them all up).
Categories for Best Art/Animation:
-Quality of sprites
-Clear idea
-Overall (can't think of anything else srry, but it would be x/20)
Categories for Best Collaborative:
-Everyone pitched in
-Good concept
-Overall (it differs for each project because best collab can be almost anything)(x/20)
Categories for Best Educational:
-Informative
-True facts
-Easy to understand
-Overall
Categories for Best Overall:
Can't really think of any
Well, those are just my ideas, post what you think about them!

If you are referring to my suggestion for Russian Roulette, I was never ever going to originally finish The Lost Crystals. I needed some motivation, and this was perfect motivation.

That's a good system. I think I might use and but make some changes like how many points things are worth and some other stuff but that's a good idea.

No, this project comes to mind though

The project notes say "after months of scripting and testing".

Well what if by the time that you have your SSBB game gets done, you want to enter it. Maybe the rule should be like only one OLDER project per team....

Maybe have a separate category for older projects? I don't want to feel like a sucker for being the only guy to start a new project.

yeah i like it. maybe a few minor changes might help. i also think that we should have a separate forum topic for judges so we can discuss things like new or old projects, and the scoring system. we can also let eachother know which projects we are judging so we can get all the projects judged quicker.

That's the only big problem I see too, the thing is that you don't want to mess people over just because they started making their project at the wrong time . . .

Announce it now then. The wrong time should be before the thread was made.
