I Vote Kuri, for NINJA STICK PERSON. It is a long game with a story, it has very complex programming, has different weapons you have to earn, and is all round fun. It also has good graphics for a 2D game.

Archmage, Canthiar, and I are the best Scratchers. Archmage in game programming, Canthiar for "Super Programming", and me for Creativity and basic game programming.
See: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/Oldschooler2/76858 I used x velocity instead of the normal "move [insert # here] " like you see in arby's game or MSWarner's or a lot of other people, excluding archmage.

I'd say as a designer MyRedNeptune but Jens and TressaJayne are both brilliant programmers
Thanks!
I totally agree about Jens. He has some marveluos projects!
Hm.. who is TressaJayne? Never heard of that user. Better check out their projects!

MyRedNeptune, axeblade was bragging too. But you don't say he was. Probably cause I don't think you're a top scratcher. Well, I may not be as good as Canthiar or any of the other better users on Scratch. If I'm not good enough to be considered a top Scratcher, than why do I bother making projects. If you don't like me, that's okay. But you don't need to be in my face. I'm in high school, so don't underestimate me. You're drawings are above adequate, all right??? ...What, none of my games are adequate in your mind? They suck to you? Forget it. FORGET IT. I'm being very hyperbolic here. So to conclude: Archmage rules in the game programming, Canthiar rules for pushing the limits of Scratch. There. I'M NOT FREAKING BRAGGING:P
!!! (Woh, pardon my anger, if you are a forum moderator, I get angry easily.) *Sigh* I'd never even get a bronze medal if I had MyRedNeptune as a judge for the contest for best Scratcher. Well, I'm not good, I'm not bad, and I'm not in the middle. i.e. I'm nothing anymore. I've lost my luster. Scratch has been fun but I'm not a fan of critics. I'd rather be told my projects suck, than to be told I'm bragging. There is no way that one should point out the obvious. You know who you are.

Hahahah, oldschooler2 you have such a big ego
Whats with all the fighting here people? Can't we all just get along?
Also I not as great at game programming as you think. I would say I am an intermediate action script 2.0 programmer

Axeblade wasn't bragging, don't you understand it was just a joke?

There is no real answer to this question, it's kind of like asking which band or which singer is the best; Different people like different things.
There are enormously ambitious and technical projects in Scratch (that I suspect do more with Scratch than the developers ever imagined would be done), there are projects that present important messages, games that are fun to play, clever puzzles, etc. I've been very impressed with some of the projects that are done with just one or two sprites and one or two scripts, these aren't complicated, just clever.
Who's the best? Nobody is... And I don't even see that as important, the important thing is to have fun, learn, and most important (in my book), help each other out.

I don't think it is good programming that makes a good scratcher. I am not trying to sound Mr.hollywood, but you can have one of the best programmers here, but they can be the most downright nastiest people around (I am not saying that the better at programming you are the nastier you are), but good at programming or not, no-one likes a nasty person, their projects may be good, but overall, no-body wants someone boasting about thier projects or making fun of others projects. I think scratch is generally a nice community, eg. if you go to YoYo games, if you post one comment that is rubbish, they start swearing about you, gossiping, flagging your games... On scratch, no-one does that! One of the people at YoYo games, is an excelent programmer, but he swears the worst I have ever 'c*** 'een.
Offline
Thats only some people at YoYO games by the way, the lot is generally ok, but they could have a safer system.

oldschooler2, don't quit, you have been encouraging me to scratch on for as long as I have been on here! In Australia, my friends and I usually brag, but we don't mean it, we use it as those humerless jokes we knowingly crack all the time.

I think I'm the best Scratcher! Just kidding. I only made one game though. I think Canthiar is the best Scratcher, but I personally feel this topic is biased because it is all based off of people's opinions. Still, not to be boastful, my Mario Golf game has the ball bouncing animation plus ball angle determined by trigonometry and wind power. But still, it is glitchy, so I'm not sure if I can be considered a top Scratcher.
