This is a game where there are four archeologists underground, exploring (as the title says). People can come along and post a little bit of the adventure.
Meet the archeologists:
Professor Hidelbrok
Dr. Kilomach
Sir. Rielofag
Mrs. Wealodaf
There are some rules:
Removed, this rule no longer applies: 1. No posting twice in a row. In other words, no posting one bit of the adventure and then posting another thing right after that. If you must, do it in one post.
2. No favoring a character or not using a character. Basically, that means that you shouldn't be always posting about the same character over and over, or never using a character. Treat them equally. What is the best is when someone does a post that includes all of the characters. You might have some dialog between them, or something like that.
3. No being wild. If you're wondering what I mean, I'm saying that you shouldn't post things like "Oh no," muttered Hidelbrok, as through the hole in the wall ten dinosaurs emerged. Or "Run!" screamed Wealodaf, as mutant aliens from Mars chased them throughout the silocone building. I think I can trust all of you.
4. No killing or wounding characters. I can already picture "No..." murmured Kilomach, as Rielofag drew his last breath. He was dead. Don't do anything like that. It is all right for things like cuts, bruises, scrapes, punches, or other things like that.
That is all that I can think of. You may suggest new rules, and I will consider them.
Tips for your posts: Have plenty of dialog, don't be so crazy, and keep it fresh. Post things that may come in handy later (like finding a jewel that they use to open a door somehow). As before, you can recommend tips, and I will consider them.
If you want to know the gender of the characters (if you want to use the people the same as you), Hidenbrok and Rielofag are male while Kilomach and Wealodaf are female.
Enjoy yourself! I will start below, in the next post.
Good job everyone! I see that you are starting to form personalities. For example, greenflash posted that Wealodaf used to be a nurse. That could come in handy later as they continue exploring.

The four archeologists examined a hole in the ground.
"I can't see the bottom," Rielofag noted. Wealodaf had an idea. She took a stone from the ground, and dropped it down the hole. The four of them waited patiently, but they could not hear any noise.
"It seems like it's a long way down-" she started to say.
"-Or the ground is soft underneath, so we can't hear the impact," Hidenbrok suggested.
The four of them were thinking. Finally, Kilomach had an idea.
"Let's enlarge the hole, and climb down!" she cried. Agreeing, the four of them gathered their ropes and hooks. The enlarged the hole, and then began to climb down.
"I wonder what we're going to find..." Hidenbrok thought.

Just then, Hidenbrok's rope snapped! He swung his arms out wildly and caught onto a ledge protruding from the side of the walls of the hole. He scrambled up on the narrow ledge to catch his breath.
"Are you ok?" Wealodaf called through the darkness.
Hidenbrok didn't reply
"I'll climb down and get him!" Kilomach suggested
"But whe don't know where he is!" Rielofag pointed out
"Can somebody hand me a flashlight?" Wealodaf asked. "We might be able to find him!"
"I'm down here!" Hidenbroke said at last. "You should really come down and see this!"

"My goodness, what a find!" Mrs. Wealodaf exclaimed as the 3 others reached the bottom of the hole. "This would be the biggest amount of gems I've ever seen," says Dr. Kilomach in amazement. They and the professor stared at the humongus amount of diamonds in pure wonder. Sir Rielofag, however, was more interested in the skeletons surrounding the room. "This is strange: never seen this amount of corpses before except in a graveyard," he whispers to himself.

Hidenbrok sat in the corner "I know it's amazing, but could somebody please help me? I think i've broken my arm"
"Oh, sorry!" Mrs. Wealodaf exclaimed "You know, I did used to a nurse."
Dr. Kilomach walked around the small space in wonder, picking up gems as she went. She gestured to Sir Rielofag.
"Look at these stones, I've never seen anything like them. I think they have etchings on them!"
Offline
Suddenly, the ceiling starts to come down.
"I believe those etchings mean 'Keep out'!" Sir Rielofag exclaims.
Offline
"Are you sure?" Wealodaf asks
"Let's get out of this place!!" Hidenbrok screams
"That explains the skelotens!" Kilomach exclaims
"RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!" Rielofag yells!!
This all happens at close to the same time. Rielofag dives over his fellow archeologists, trying to sheild them from the impact of the ceiling. But the impact never comes!
Offline
The ceiling trembled, with a few cracks appearing. The four archeologists stared at it for a few seconds, and then the trembling stopped. It suddenly occured to them that the skeletons could be here because of being hit on the head by falling rocks.
"I think that it's stopped temporarily," said Kilomach. "We should get out as soon as possible."
Hidenbrok attempted to get up, but fell back to the ground because of his broken arm.
"I'll help you," said Wealodaf. She lifted him to his feet. Once done, the four of them started to run for cover as the ceiling started to tremble again. They dived under a protruding rock that was large enough to shield them all, and then they waited and watched as the ceiling gave way. Dust filled the area, the rocks from the ceiling breaking down some of the wall.
"The gems are buried!" Rielofag cried out. Kilomach calmly brought out her gems.
"I collected some gems for examination later," she explained.
Hidenbrock pointed through the dust that was falling to the ground. There was a passageway that was hidden by some wall that had been destroyed.
"Come on!" cried Wealodaf, rushing to the passage.

They had only gone five steps each before they stopped in wonder. The ceiling above them was covered with emeralds, while dozens crunched underfoot as they stepped on them.
"Look..." Rielofag said quietly, nodding at the emeralds on the soft floor. "I thought they were just small rocks..."
"Why are they pressed so far into the ground?" Kilomach wondered; she hadn't seen the ceiling.
"They fell from up there," said Hidelbrok gently, turning her head upwards with his un-fractured arm.
"Enough gasping in awe, everyone; we should start gathering some!" said Wealodaf, a slight edge of impatience in her voice. "I've got some bags here, everybody-"
She passed them around, and they all were soon filling their bags up. They filled them to the brim, closed them with difficulty, and were off.
However, the passage went on for a long time. The emeralds were still there, but they soon appeared less often until they were gone. The ground held nothing on top, so the damp clay pressed into their shoes.
"How did this place get so wet?" asked Hidelbrok in wonder.
"I don't know..." said Kilomach.
But to their surprise, the passage soon opened up. A lake was visible in front of them, with another passage across.
"And how are we supposed to get across that?!" Rielofag groaned.
"We swim," Wealodaf said simply.
"All these precious stones will weigh us down considerably," Hidelbrok reminded. "We can throw the bags across, though-"
"-and have them break open and spill when they land," said Kilomach, folding her arms.
"We can gather them up when we get across," Hidelbrok shrugged, already moving towards the lake. To his annoyance, Rielofag grabbed his shoulder.
"What?!" he said irritably.
"Our equipment."
"Just throw it across!" Wealodaf cried. She tossed her ropes, hooks, rations, and other supplies across, and waded into the lake with everyone following.
And so the four of them were swimming across.

As Rieloflag, Kilomach and Wealodaf reached the other side of the lake, they heard a shout from Hidelbrok "HELP!!", "his arm!" said Kilomach as he jumped into the lake, Wealodaf and Rielofag quickly followed, as they Pulled Hidelbrok to safety, Wealodaf saw a gem in the ground, "hey guys" says Wealodaf, as she tried to pull the gem out of the ground, suddenly, the ground starts shaking. "Lets get out of here" says Hidelbrok

"it's a bit too late for that." Kilomach says. "besides, nothing happened last time. Let's keep going" A small crack appears under her feet, but Kilomach seems to take no notice. It widens. She trips and loses her balance, and grabbs onto the side of the fissure.
"HELP!!" she screams. It seemed as if the crack had began to fill with water.
"Why is it so wet down there?" Rieloflag asks.
"Look at the lake!"Wealodaf shouted
The water from the lake was draining into the ground, as if someone had pulled out the drain plug. And all the water was filling into the crack Kilomach had falen into.
"Kilomach!" Hidenbrok calls. "Let go! The water is rising, and will soon rreach the top of the fissure!!"
I wild look flashes across Kilomach's eyes. "OK. I'll do it" She lets go and splashes into the swiftly rising water below.

Kilomach hit the water, and went under several feet. The area was very interesting, as she stared around her. However, the water was rising, making the surface higher up, but the water carried her up also. Along with her swimming, she reached the top. She waited patiently as she was brought up to the surface.
After half a minute, Kilomach had rejoined the others.
"Guess what I found down there!" she cried. "I think that's the way to go! There are some statues, signs of an underground civilization!"
"What about our equipment?" said Rielofag.
"We can leave it here," Wealodaf told him. She turned to Kilomach. "How are we going to get down there?"
Hidenbrok seemed to have a solution.
"The people who lived here must have used the water to get down there, as it is a hundred feet down. They would go up and down the shaft with the water. But they would need air, so they would need to be able to take the water away. There must be a way to get rid of the water up here and down there, as it would take too long to make the water go away from there. It takes a minute for the crack to fill or deplete. So we should search for something up here that gets rid of the water, and then jump in and wait for the water to carry us down there."
They all began to search for something. Almost immediately Kilomach tripped on a weird hole in the ground.
"My gem!" she cried, seeing that the hole was the shape of a gem. She placed the gem into the hole, and it fit. Perfectly.
The water began to drain. Smiling, they all jumped in and waited for the water to take them down. They held their equipment above them, so it would not get wet.

"what about me?" It was Hidenbrok.
"We can make a sling once we ge to the bottom of this." Reiloflag said.
Just then, the water drained away and the four landed with a bump on the soft wet earth below them

All right... I'm removing the first rule, because if you posted something and no one else would later, you would want to post something next, wouldn't you?
Anyway...
The four archeologists hit the bottom. Around their feet the last drops of water were draining away.
"Now what?" said Rielofag. "Let's take a look at these statues." They all examined them closely.
Wealodaf was feeling a statue, when it accidentally fell over. To their amazement, behind it stood a door.
"This must be it!" exclaimed Hidenbrok. They all eagerly walked to it, when they realized that there was a coded lock.
"A number between zero and a million opens it..." muttered Kilomach. "But what is it?"

You really have a sense of humor, don't you?
Anyway...
"Hopefully nothing," hoped Rielofag. He stared at the keypad, and entered in 4952. Instantly the ground that he was standing on got tilted backwards, sending him backwards. To add insult to injury, he received some spray in his face that hurt his eyes.
"We should cover our eyes and watch out for the tilting ground," said Hidenbrok, stepping forwards with his eyes shut tight. He entered in 9126, and then braced himself for the tilt. The others laughed when the door swung open, making him look funny.
"Wahooo!" shouted Kilomach, stepping forward. She suddenly froze.
"Take a look at this!" she cried, pointing ahead of her.
