Re: What's after scratch?

It looks to me that Starlogo TNG is a good fit with Scratch as it has block programming and is a 3D world where you can move thousands of sprites around. It would be right for 15-18 year olds moving on from Scratch and there are lots of interesting projects you might do focusing on interation between the sprites (bird flocking behaviour, predator/prey and so on).

However there is a real world out there and JavaScript is a pretty good language now with AJAX toolkits available for free, no costs, and the ability to showcase your work on any website. You could also get a job if you are any good.

For me, real programming is object oriented and I would go the Java/Visual C# route.

How about Runtime Revloution? It uses ENGLISH based commands, so it's not cryptic.

I was looking into the iPhone SDK, but I doubt I could do it. Archmage, have you looked into that at all?

I have been trying.. it seems a bit complex and I think apple wont let very many people make tutorials... After about a month of searching I found this http://icodeblog.com/category/iphone-programming-tutorials/
which has some pretty good tutorials.. but one of them isnt finished...
I wish I could just find a book on how to make stuff in xcode lol...

Create an Apple Developer account. All the tutorials you'll ever need.

Re: What's after scratch?

I Think that Revolution will be a good idea, because I've talked with the developer of

Styks(a pivot stk figure animator like animator) and he wrote it entirely in revolution, and suggested I try it.
