He saw the vole nibbling on a seed by a large, rotten oak. Just as he was about to strike the vole, the smell of old memories caught him off guard. Slatestrike froze. It was Nightwing's tree.

Slatestrike gazed around; he saw the nest where Rustpaw used to sleep in, the place where they played together, scratch marks on the wall of two kits. Slatestrike sighed. Life was better back then....

ruststorm sighed. she was bored, and felt kind of alone. she decided to return to the tree that nightwing had once helped her stay alive in. she smiled. that's when life was good. she rushed to the great oak. it was rotting, now, but hte scent of nightwing, herslef, and slatestrike were still there. WAIT A MINUTE! slatestike's scent was fresh! and what was this hairless cat doing standing outside of HER tree! she snarled. ''what are you doing!'' she growled. she climbed up to the hollow, and saw slatestrike there. ''uh...i uh...sorry...'' she said. seh climbed back down, and sat at the base of the tree in a state of shock. WHAT WAS HE DOING THERE! she thought.

Slatestrike turned around quickly and saw his much prettier, mature old friend. "Ruststorm, what are you doing here?" he meowed. He popped his head out of the gap and saw Taffy struggling to climb the tree. "Hey Taffy!" he called.
