This isn't my last post on here, but I'd like to say something.
Scratch 1.4 has really changed my life. I've found people who share my interests, I've collaborated and created with other amazing scratchers. It's weird that I'm feeling so emotional over a computer programming language, but it is hard for me to change what I've been doing for years, and move on.
The ST's plans for the future are unknown, but I'm glad to think that the community will always be kind and helpful, the language will always be a fun and easy way to be introduced into programming, the motto will always be: Imagine, Program, Share, and I will always cherish the moments that Scratch has changed my life in my heart.
This speech might sound cheesy, it might sound dumb and just written for attention, but I want to tell you all what I really feel about Scratch, and how big it is for me, and how wonderful the community is.
Thank you Scratch Team, for creating a programming language that anyone can love, and learn from.
I don't think it sounded dumb or cheesy and I know what you're coming from.
A while ago my friends were talking about alternative timelines or universes or whatever that is where we think of how our lives would be if we made a different decision on something that seemed trivial and unimportant. After a while I realised how totally different my life would've been if, on the last day of school a number of years ago, I never picked up one of the little slips where the teacher had printed the name of the website where you could download the program we'd been using in computer lab
I probably wouldn't've been interesting in programming / engineering (Which I go to college for now), I probably wouldn't've gotten the criticism I needed to improve my writing, I wouldn't've discovered a lot of great books that people I've met through here have recommended to me, I wouldn't've had anyone to talk to through my awful pre-medicated depression days, etc. Not to mention music- I probably wouldn't be listening to 90% of the music I listen to now, I wouldn't be going to concerts, and I wouldn't be spending most of my income on records <_< I've made friendships that've lasted years and years (I think the oldest Scratch-based friendship I've got is turning 3 years later this season and the person and I still talk to each other regularly). None of that would've happened if I didn't pick up that slip!
I'd probably still be painting instead of playing video games that've been recommended to me all day though also it hasn't been a totally productive run, but it's been a long and interesting one

I really don't like my username but I really don't like being a new scratcher but I don't post enough to make it worthwhile to use my new account but I don't post often enough for it not to be, you know? maybe not.
Speaking of which, I haven't heard from TDD or Alt in a long time.

They both quit a while ago, I'm surprised you didn't know. They kind of went away along with Misc.

You still know Scratch, considering not much REALLY changed. It's all a facade!

Well, I guess this is my last post on the 1.4 website. Though it's sad leaving 1.4, I can't wait for 2.0. See you all on the 9th.

You people are making this out to be so sad. Well it's true I learned a lot from Scratch 1.4, and met some amazing people, at worst the UI will get a little more blue come Thursday. We'll all still be together, right? Yes? Good. I'm looking forward to it. Move out!

Hi, I'm really sad that Scratch 1.4 is going away.
We shared many memories, messages, projects, and love-its by using the simplicity of this website, and we've had many friendships too in this website.
Scratch 2.0 is going to come out on May 9 but we will always have Scratch 1.4 in our mind and hearts.
I will miss Scratch 1.4 so much.
I hope someday maybe someday they bring Scratch 1.4 back.
Today is the final day,the final countdown.
I will host the scratch.mit.edu html file so we can remember the good old times.
We will be the shadows of Scratch 1.4 , never delete the Scratch 1.4 editor because you will not find it anywhere else.(I will host the installer files in my dropbox account)
If you want to share 1.4 projects, comment about how we liked scratch 1.4 send an email to this contact email : [e-mail removed by moderator. Please follow the Community Guidelines and don't share contact info].
If you want to see some Scratch 1.4 projects, pdf files (how-to guides), the website, the installer files for scratch 1.4 , the link is here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/2yjghf5uipjdzrg/iY3uFuWS00
