My HDD shows that it is in my town, hopefully it will arrive tomorrow and I'll have time to set it up before LD starts. I currently plan to work for an hour or so mostly on brainstorming, getting a decent sleep and being up early on Saturday. That day I'll work as much as possible, then finish up on Sunday. I may set up a livestream if there is any interest. Maybe a join.me session?

Looking forward to it! My HDD should be at the door when I come home (about one hour) and I'll be prepared to set it up. I'll have to do a from-scratch Windows installation on it, so I can hopefully finish all my Homework for the weekend while waiting for things to install. I have a fairly long list of things to install. I'll probably refrain from downloading major Steam games until overnight, so I don't use up my bandwidth for the f5 bashing that will inevitably happen in the last five minutes or so before it starts.

Re: Ludum Dare speed programming event - are you in?

I'm going for a grayscale stealth game. The graphics will be as minimal and clean as possible (although humans may be terrible) and one of the goals of the game is to get through using as few weapons/killing as few guards as possible. I have some very basic elements so far.

I made a minimalistic game. It took about an hour maybe. It's here:

Sooner or Later. Or sooner. Not much, except for a lot. In a way. But it will come no matter what.

I bit off a bit more than I could  chew. I neet to do a writeup because it was a good learning experience, and was better than last year's, but still not fuly developed. I think my biggest problem (that I realized about halfway through) was that I was stuck in the paradigm that a game should involve a person doing something. I completely ignored athe concept of just controlling abstract things, like bejewelled, tetris, asteroids, etc. That'll be a good reminder for next time.
