Gather round, little Wilsons and Willows, as I tell you a tale of science, despair, betrayal, insanity, and the survival of the fittest.
In Don't Starve, you play as Wilson, a gentleman scientist. (Or Willow, a little girl who's also apparently a pyro. Then there's WX-78, a heartless robot who can eat spoiled food. Wickerbottom's a vastly intelligent elderly woman, and Wes is a mime who... isn't good at anything.) Wilson has been tricked by a handsomely dressed demon named Maxwell into creating a doorway to a hostile world, and it's up to him to pull together every ounce of his strength to survive, thrive, and escape the horrid landscape.
The game boasts permadeath, two seasons, (Summer and Winter) and a whole lotta of wildlife. The greatest part, however, is the art style, which looks very sketchy, and gives you the sensation that this "hostile world" is the ever-referrenced "old country". Seriously, the wormholes in this game are big, hairy worm mouths sticking out of the ground.
So discuss!

Heh, playing as him now. Had a bit of a problem filling his stomach at first, but now that I have a tentacle spike he hits harder than a Jackie Chan with a big stick. :3
Anyways, got to winter for the first time, tracked a winter Koalephant, slayed Mactusk and his hounds, and got a blue gem. This is only my third attempt! Also, I have two active touchstones. :3

I've never played it before, but I have seen playthroughs.
I'm actually excited for when I do get it, it's really good.

I died for the Night Monster. >:I
Who, Charlie? :3
Anyway, I'd like to talk about adventure mode, but of course the discussion will abruptly end with, "I failed to notice X, and now I am dead."

Ok, a hand just stole some of my fire. I was too busy flipping out from the insane creepiness of both the hand (thought of the hand in the menu which I think is the night monster) and the creepy music box to do anything about it.
Then, when Wilson was going completely crazy, one night he just sat down at his campfire and died.

Anyone know how I can avoid the crawling horrors, due to them being, oh I don't know, INVISIBLE? I keep getting killed by them.
And what does the nightmare fuel they drop do?

I believe Nightmare Fuel is used to build the Shadow Manipulator, the tier 3 prototyping device. Also, the fire staff. :3
Anyway, I heard from an interview that CAVES are coming in the next update! Supposedly with walls and everything. o_0
