This is a feature that would really help to apply scripts to multiple sprites.
Basically, you can create a color-coded group (color-coding groups would make it easier to tell them apart), and you can name it too. On each sprite's page, you have the option to add them to a group. You can add a sprite to as many groups as you want; you can always view its page to see which groups it is in.
Groups can have their own page as well. Group pages show all of the sprites that are in that group. You can place scripts on the group page, and then when the script is activated it will be applied to all of the sprites in that group. This is a tremendous help, as it will allow you to get several sprites to do the same thing very easily without having to frustratingly copy and paste the same script onto each sprite several times. It can save space and reduce lag on your projects.
Groups, just like sprites, could have their own customized variables and lists too.
Even more interesting would be if there were blocks that allowed a sprite to join and exit a group while the project runs. That would be awesome.
This is an idea that I think would be very beneficial to Scratch.
What do you guys think? Is there anything else that could make this feature even better? Give me your thoughts and opinions; I would really like to see this idea get implemented.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that I was ignored again; perhaps I should post this on the 2.0 forums.

I just posted a similar idea, statuses, that seem more realistic and don't require new windows for editing.

Oh, wait, actually my idea is very different- mine pertains to sensing. :p
