I finished the guitar parts for procrastination, All4one, could you just record your vocals while singing along to it so the timing is correct, then upload it? Also whoever's doing the drums, if you could make the drum track.
Then I'll do the final mix, and possibly redo some of the intro bits (because of some crackling), and add a better solo at the end, and we're done.

Great stuff, jji! I'll upload my vocals inside a week.
Also, I started working on the music for 'Don't Wake Me Up', making it (probably against AwesomeStar's wishes) into a somewhat grungy rocker. I'll upload that this week, too.
If Neil won't do drums (perfectly understandable, since he's already doing bass and vocoder as well), I'll just handle the drum duties temporarily until someone else comes in.
Also, pinni, I unfortunately can't view your project right now, since it's getting pretty late and I don't have time to hear all of it now, but I'll certainly prioritize listening to it tomorrow.

I liked pinni's music, but it would be more suitable for a game or similar, than for a rock band album in my honest opinion.

Oh, and if you do the vocals and drums in a week, that would be awesome. Also, try to export it as a .wav .aiff or .flac file, so that it is uncompressed and we have good quality. If you must use m4a or mp3, try to use high quality.

Awesome, don't use a Scratch project though. Use dropbox or mediafire.

Ok then. I just finished my guitar solo and redid the intro, so the song is ready as soon as your vocals and drums are ready
Unless Neil wants to do some bass for it

I did say weird and inventive. You're lucky I didn't get my little keyboard out if you thought that was strange.
You can build around it can't you? If rock bands like this don't need poncy spaniard guitars or saxophones, or even patternmusic bases, let alone weird little lyig around synthesizers that are playig through five feet of dust caught in the speakers then there's not much I can do.
I tried my hand at songwriting and it didn't turn out well
If you can't do anything with my patterns then I might as well leave and only get involved anymore when you need a saxophone (they come in handy sometimes). Rock is very very hard on patternmusic.
Not impossible.
But very very hard.
And I'd only end up with a weirder version of what you guys can do with real instruments anyway.
I might get a synthesizer (proper fm one) soon, so if you don't need me now, and I leave until further notice, I'll check again once I have that.
if I get that.
I spent a long time- the end of my Easter holidays on those patterns, so if you can't tell, I feel a bit put down.

I'm not saying I don't like them, I just think that software music isn't appropriate for a band. You told me you play classical guitar, so do I! I just happen to not have my classical guitar with me right now. If you give me your skype, we can try to write some awesome 'rock with classical guitar style bits' songs.
we can use this for inspiration

We could definitely make songs that incorporate both sax and classical guitar - it would sound very much like a King Crimson song. I haven't yet gotten the chance to listen to your patterns but I will soon for sure.
Meanwhile, I finished the drum track, and I shall work on my vocal track and song demo later on, and hopefully post them on Friday.

Can you give me the drum track? I'll start mixing it in.

I can try, but I won't have my computer until Friday - and that's obviously my main source for uploading. Still, I'll try to find a way to upload it mobilely (I can't find an adverb for 'mobile' in the dictionary ).

Ok lol.

I don't have skype. I don't even have a handy webcam either.
I have one webcam but it's for stop motion animation, and really, it isn't the same thing. It'd be quite funny using that for skype actually come to think of it... Lol. It looks like a ladybird.
I know what you mean about software pieces. It is only meant to back. You can cover it up as much as you like. All you need is to do is replicate the drums.
Apart from that, I do like building a bridge over the rock/classcal divide.
Saxophones are easy enough to add into something. Just give me a scale and a feel and I can improvise a solo.
If you haven't heard of impro solos, it isn't like *
because the musician made it up as they went along. They did make it up like that. But that makes it the opposite of rubbish. But you'll all know what improv. Solos are like anyway. You're all good musicians.
No can do to skype I'm afraid though. I play kingdoms at war though if that's any help, but it probably isn't.

Hey drop everything! Have any of you seen the 'end unpopularity' campaign? We must right something to support this! Anything! As long as it portrays a strong message! It would be so cool and if we made a basic amv out of it, we could get really popular! Suddeny!
The whole point of the campaign Is to make people popular, so if we (currently unheard of but have great potential), all the people saying 'stop spamming cat art go forthe new stuff' would see us as a beacon and we could get scratch fame!
I'd re attempt songwriting for this!

Hmm, that sounds pretty interesting. Maybe "Don't Wake Me Up" would be pretty good for that. I added a sort of U2-ish sound to it, and it sounds pretty anthemic. I'll try to record the demo for that soon.

I've given up with FL Slayer.
I cannot understand what is going on with FL Studio's chords.

So you can't play an actual bass then?

I just found out how to use the draw tool in audacity to create synthesizer noises! It's awesome!
For those of you who don't know,
audio track, add 1 hundredth of a second of silence.
Zoom right in and draw a waveform with the draw tool. Next, copy and paste it loads. You can use repeat effect but at the end of each repeated section, audacity will add a black line to mark the border thingy. As you are zoomed right in, there are loads of repeats and therefore loads of black lines that make it really slow. The more you copy and paste, the easier it will be to use the waveform you make.
Make sure bits of your waveform go below the line in the middle and some bits above.
Zoom out.
Play it. It will be really high pitched. Change the pitch downwards and hey presto you have a random useless waveform tone!
You probably knew this already, bt I just found it out and I'm really happy.
I didn't use a tutorial either.
Ps, files using that method of sound creation take ages to save.
I'll try and write a song about unpopularity. I think we could get really popular out of doing something like that.

You can also make sine waves using render tone I think
But I was hoping this band would be more of the good old rock and roll band rather than the electronic music band...

Hey guys, check out this little untitled demo I made. It's pure rock and roll - complete with rollicking drum fills and rattling guitar solos. It's sort of rough-sounding at the moment so we can polish it up a bit, but I'm hoping you guys like it.
P.S. - I'll be uploading the drums to 'Procrastination' this Sunday.

It sounds awesome. It sounds a little thin though, what do you want me to do for it? I'm writing a 'i want you' style heavy rock thing, with sparse lyrics and heavy riffs. I'll look forward to the drums. Vocals ready at all?
