White Music // XTC
i just got a book on them yesterday and i'm only like two chapters in but it's good so far
oddly that's one of like 2 albums of theirs i dont have
the other being mummer
It's a pretty good album. Their early art punk qualities are really evident on here, even on the singles that were supposed to be "catchier" to an extent. Andy came up with most of the standard songs on it, but Colin also contributes some pretty far-out stuff on there. It's a rather fun listen.

yeah i really like a lot of stuff on there (and some not, since i've heard the box set coat of many cupboards that has a lot of the outtakes)
my favourite xtc albums will always be the Holy Trinity of skylarking, oranges and lemons, & nonsvch, just because they have so many great songs and flow together so well
i also greatly appreciate apple venus, black sea, and psonic psunspot (if it counts)

I'm listening to industrial metal on vinyl and it's so strange because I'm not used to seeing/hearing angry sounds like this come from the wimpy little disks that usually spin out like Simon & Garfunkel for me
I don't think I like this e_e

I've had "Happy Together" by the Turtles stuck in my head since I watched Shrek earlier today. It's so strange to know this song was recorded before my mother was born when it sounds so modern. I'd easily believe it was released ten years ago :T
