Discuss the books, movies, and possibilities of the series here.
I just started reading it and its a good book so far.
In my opinion, cloning dinosaurs would be impossible because we don't have enough DNA. However, reviving the race of the mammoths or more recent exintions would be possible, likely even.
What do you guys think?

I've only ever seen the first movie, but I enjoyed it. I've also got the book somewhere, but haven't yet read it.

I've seen all the movies, but I've never read the books.

I first saw the movie when I was 7, still watch it at least once every two months. I'm definitely seeing the 3D rerelease.
The Lost World was okay, but Jurassic Park 3 was...also okay.
I read the book in like 5th grade but didn't really understand it, since it was way different from the movie. The only reason I owned the book in the first place was because my sister had it for summer reading leading up to 10th grade. It's still sitting there in my bookshelf, maybe I'll reread it.

I've never seen the movies, but you should totally read the book, at least the first one. It has a bit of a slow start, once you get into it though you can't put it down! Or at least I can't. I would reccomend ireading it when you have a lot of time, or in your spare time because it takes a long time to read so far, at least for me it is.

I haven't seen the movie, but I love the book! For those of you who don't know, at least in the book the dinosaurs were cloned using the blood extracted from prehistoric mosquitos that were preserved in amber. I can't really say whether that's feasible or not, how much DNA do you really need to clone something?

I haven't read the book, but I've seen the movie. It was awesome! I've always been fascinated with dinosaurs, lol.
(Ok, I'm getting really tired of these "Pico Rules!" things popping up everywhere, PICO YOU ARE EVIL XD)

Ooh, yeah, I just got to t-h-e part where they are in t-h-e lab, a-n-d explaining about how they got t-h-e DNA.
(Again, I'm going to look back on these posts someday and think that I was going crazy.)

Jurassic park is epic. I've read the book and seen the movie.

I haven't seen the movie, but I have heard there are, what, 3 of them? Are all 3 based off books?
Offline
I think only the first was based on a book.
There's rumors of a fourth I believe?

The Lost World was also a book, actually, but the third movie wasn't based on anything.
I haven't read The Lost World but I've read Jurassic Park.
The book is vastly different from the movie, though, there are more back stories as to how the dinosaurs were cloned, other characters, scenes, plot points.

"Neither a plot synopsis nor any cast members have yet been confirmed."
They may have confirmed it but are holding off it in case it doesn't work out?

Honestly I wish they would not make a fourth film because the second wasn't exactly the biggest thing ever and neither was the third, I feel that they're trying too hard to continue the legacy when it will already be imprinted for a long time by the first.

You're right that it applies for many good films, but in cases it actually improves upon the first's influence (e.g. Toy Story 2, Terminator 2, The Godfather Part II, LOTR: The Two Towers). Of course this happens rarely, though.

I'm not sure you can count "The Two Towers" as that would most definitely HAVE to have been made considering it's all one big story.

yeah when it's part of a book series or something that doesn't count
and yeah there are a few good ones but i'm talking in general

Okay then, switch Two Towers with The Dark Knight.
It mostly applies to horror movies, though, from what I've seen.

I've never read the books, but I know that the first movie is amazing. The reactions are realistic, the music and visuals are amazing, and the story and foreshadowing are fantastic.

I really want to see the movie now that Im reading the book, because everyone is saying its good. Ive heard its way different from the book though.
