Indie games are video games developed independently, (hence the term "indie") that is, published by the developer. Such games have beautiful art and/or music, if not outstanding gameplay. The developers also tend to be more "in touch" with their players. Come to think of it, every game on this website is indie! :3

So discuss! Have you played any indie games? What are your favorites?

I've played Minecraft. That's Indie. And I've played my own games. Those are Indie. And I've played other Scratcher's games. Those are indie. Yay.

LIMBO, Superbrothers: Sword & Sorcery EP, and Amnesia (Though I don't think it's independent anymore). Maybe some others I don't remember because I didn't like them as much

Little Inferno, Bit.Trip Runner2, and Mutant Mudds are probably my favorites. (I'm really good at finding games almost nobody else on this forum plays tongue )

Indie Games are overall my favorite ones.

Bastion, Super Meat Boy, Castle Crashers, World of Goo, Little Inferno, Super Hexagon, LIMBO, and Braid are all fantastic games that I would recommend to any gamer.

Oops I forgot Skullgirls, that's good too.

Limbo and Infinity Blade.

Limbo is really sad but really engaging at the same time. Never have I seen so many deaths.

I wouldn't say he's "gruesomely" murdered, maybe "comically." I don't think the game is as dark or disturbing as you're trying to make it out to be, plenty of kids TV shows nowadays are more or less at the same level of cartoony violence. I wouldn't have any problems letting my 10 year old sister play it (Though she's also sort of used to watching me play somewhat violent FPSs... I dunno, I'd probably let my 7 year old godsister play it too it really isn't that bad)

There's this game called Ao Oni. Similiar to Yume Nikki, it's an indie (duh) horror game, made by a non-professional. It's really creepy, with challenging puzzles.
I would post the link, but it would give a bunch of people nightmares. At least, I got nightmares. 0__0

Definitely the best Indie game I have ever played was Minecraft. There are other cool Indie games I have played, but I can't just think of their names ATM.
