Re: Bookworm Studios: The new and unique Scratch Collaboration!

Maybe he/she means the lost world, which Jurassic park was ripped off from. Written by the same guy who wrote Sherlock holmes. I'm not good with names either.
And not in. Sorry, you spelt comfortable wrong. ComfOrtable. Not comefartable.

I'm kidding.

You're in ! I could do new banners, but it'd take quite a while.
Any other takers?  hmm   smile

Re: Bookworm Studios: The new and unique Scratch Collaboration!

I've read the septimus heap series, not heard of the other one you mentioned.
I didn't like the Hunger games, it wasn't as good as the hype made it out to be.
Any read the maximum ride series? They're okay but have a terrible ending.

I hate it when decent books have rubbish endings ): The Maximum ride and Inheritance series definitely fit into that catagory. I loved the Inheritance series but the ending was so darn disapointing DX.

Mini rant over XD

Re: Bookworm Studios: The new and unique Scratch Collaboration!

Have any of you read the Bartimaeus trilogy? The first book was good, the second was ehh...and the third was "What was that???" Although the last paragraph or so was unexpected and very sudden. I liked it anyway.  smile
I've read the Dragon Rider as well. It was very good, another one of my favorites!  big_smile

Re: Bookworm Studios: The new and unique Scratch Collaboration!

I liked the inheritance ending myself. It would be hard to carry on from but not impossible. It can't have been as bad as the ending to the third matrix film. That was so depressing.
I think I'm the first person to say this 'as a wise-sounding quote' but anyway.
“No ending can ever be fully satisfactory to everybody. That is because. There is no such thing as an ending anyway. All endings are really just beginnings disguising themselves to see how many people they can depress”
-pinnipediator

How's that for wisdom lol!

I just thought it was quite disapointing. Oh well. Did you know that angela is based off his sister and doctor who is mentioned in it by arya? Even the elves are fans XD

Re: Bookworm Studios: The new and unique Scratch Collaboration!

Christopher paolini is so geeky he's an insult to geeks.
Yes, I did notice. There is so much in that series that has been copied.
And we should get on with new banners or something.

I haven't read the last of the Inheritance Cycle. I honestly dropped out after the second or third book.

Stop changing the subject! I've been procrastinating a new thread as it is! Stop changing the subject! Oh whatever. Now you've refused to stay on topic, I will subject you to my art! You will be due for incomprehensible torture!

Re: Bookworm Studios: The new and unique Scratch Collaboration!

Okay, we need to do something with this collab! Instead of just talking and being weird, we could do a writing contest or something! Or we could all pick a book and make it a new cover or SOMETHING!

Re: Bookworm Studios: The new and unique Scratch Collaboration!

I have an idea for an activity we could do. We could each reccomend a book, or decide on some books together, then read them (if we haven't before) and vote for our favorite book! I don't know what we would do with the favorite book, a book hall of fame maybe. Idk.

Re: Bookworm Studios: The new and unique Scratch Collaboration!

@pinni This is just me, but that seems a bit dull to me. Plus I might never get to read the book. My mom dosen't take me to the library much, even though I ask her a lot. So unless it's in a small school library I probably cound't read it. And my Dad, well, I get so many books there he only takes me every few visits XP

Re: Bookworm Studios: The new and unique Scratch Collaboration!

Some Ideas:
o We could do a collab story, have a basic outline and take turns to write chapters?

o Have monthly short story comps and have a little hall of fame where the winning story is posted every month

All i can think of for now

Re: Bookworm Studios: The new and unique Scratch Collaboration!

Those are all awesome ideas. I like the idea of writing bits of a book each. Chapters sounds about right, yeah.
For starters cheeseater, we need some stuff in them! At the moment, all there is is a tutorial on making scratch ebooks. Really, we should have a 'best this month' award for the best ebook in the gallery ever month, but there aren't an ebooks really.
Someone could make ebooks full of ideas.
We could make a poetry collection!

I have made four new banners, I just need to get them online. They are high tech looking, blue and black mainly. I have changed our mascot to a long, sleek blue worm with a pointy nose. On the banners, he is shown using his nose to write with.
There is also a lot of warped binary in the background.
I'll try and get them online as soon as I can.
smile  I'm quite proud of them, they're good for my standards. There are four, so if you want them in your signatures, there's plenty to choose from  smile

Who here as actually tried Reading that ebook tutorial I made? There are ideas for ebooks in there. What we really want to do is to populate the gallery, with anything! It could be anything from cat art to weird fanfics about mr bean joining frankie goes to Hollywood.
One rule for the gallery at the moment: it has to be creative. And I should delete that version of the gallery. Cheeseater is gallery owner and should control the gallery fully.
Cheeseater can filter out the spam and judge the best gallery entry every month or so.

Re: Bookworm Studios: The new and unique Scratch Collaboration!

Basically, I'll delete the bookworm studios ebooks gallery and cheeseater can make one with a similar name (anyone can add to) and do organised stuff with it.
