I like those names. Some of the longer ones could be used for an album, and the shorter, punchier ones would be good band names. I really like Bomb Voyage, Kloud, Intelligence Division, while good names for albums/EPs would be Exit Through the Gift Shop, The Enjoyable Torture, and Chartered Accountacy at x340.

Great suggestions.  big_smile

How many ideas is that now? I can't be bothered to count. I could reel off hundreds! I thought of all of these right now (when I posted this) and each one took me about seven seconds. Want any more?
Guessing. These could be songs, albums, band name, slogan (or bits of one)
do what you like with them. Most of these aren't as good as the others.

Is It just me or is that exactly 50? Probably not. I probably counted wrong a bit, but it's around there somewhere.  smile
like any of them?
I shouldn't think of any more for whoever trys to help decide's sake, which probably includes me, but I could come up with as many more as you wanted (probably)

Re: Probehæd - The New Scratch Band

I really like Probehead for a band name. I think we'll go with that.  big_smile

Our first EP should be called "Coveniently Obscured Jellyfish" or "They Promised Us Jetpacks", and our first album will be called "Owl Skull Cap" or "Don't Ask" (the latter being my own idea). The rest of the ideas will be titles for song names (or maybe future EPs and albums).

Also, sorry for not being too active today, was a bit held up with other stuff.

I already got synths covered, but I don't happen to have any vocoder equipment, so that may be useful in the future.

Re: Probehæd - The New Scratch Band

If everyone names their 3 favourite names posted before this post,
3 favourite Album names, 3 favourite band names, 3favourite anything else I've forgotten names.
Then we all put up a vote for each thing for an idea that we didn't suggest.
We take the top 5 for each one for a final vote.
There are so many ideas it'll have to be complicated.

Re: Probehæd - The New Scratch Band

Maybe we should start making music, and the band name will come to us naturally. Probehaeds (yes with that spelling), can be our temporary band name until then.  smile

You're right. We'll take our name inspiration from our music.  smile

I was wondering whether or not you guys wanted to start with a cover or if you guys have any song ideas already?

I don't have anything. I'd honestly contribute if I knew how to play an instrument, and if I had a microphone to record it with.

Re: Probehæd - The New Scratch Band

Let's do Radiohead's Paranoid Android I guess.

It's a great song and could really test my vocoder skills.

Great idea. I've been listening to OK Computer a lot recently, and this would be a great place to start, showing off all our different instruments.  big_smile

In case you guys haven't heard the song yet - here it is.

Let's hope it's not too complex...if it is, we can do the ELO song "Mr. Blue Sky", a song that also features vocoder.

Yeah, that or "Come As You Are". Our first album or so could probably have 65% originals, 35% covers that go over our musical influence.

Also, if we do Nirvana, I might be able to sing it, depending on the song, since my vocal range is in a similar baritenor-ish range. I wouldn't be able to sing much Radiohead, though. Thom Yorke's vocals are way too complex for me.  tongue

Re: Probehæd - The New Scratch Band

Do you have Skype or email or something? You can pm it to me on my forums if you don't want to share it, it's just that communication was really bad with the walruses and it contributed to a lot of misunderstandings, so I propose a Skype or similar as mandatory.

Re: Probehæd - The New Scratch Band

Ugh. I can't stand any of that music. I have strange tastes. If you need any of my instruments though, I use sheet music. I can't play by ear to save my life, and I'm definitely not doing tab. It makes my eyes hurt.
If no one minds, shall I just not involve myself with that stuff and start writing up song ideas?
I'll start making patternmusic bases.
Hey, we could make a patternbase and jam along to it! That would be cool. I'll start making patterns to jam along to.
Anything to save me from radiohead.
hmm
