NumPad Numbers

I was testing a DDR game I was making when I pressed 8 on the number pad. Nothing! I want to know how to make it so that I can use the number pad numbers in my projects. Thanks!

That's usually what the problem is for me.

I'm currently on a laptop with no numpad, so I can't test it out.
