VM has crashed

I get the message: "Sorry  but the VM has crashed" and the program terminates
What can I do to solve this problem;
Please help

I am  using OS Windows XP

I don't think think there's a way to recover your work if you haven't saved it, see here. Just make sure you save often.  smile

Sorry but this message "VM has crashed" appears every time I run scratch and I can not do any work with it

Try reinstalling Scratch? I'm not sure, this error isn't really a common one. :3
