I am a Scratcher on my other account, so naturally, I thought that you just needed to comment a certain amount of times to become a Scratcher. However, I just saw someone with less posts and projects than me, but is a Scratcher. How is this possible? Is being a Scratcher a timed event?

That is true, but I have said before and will say again that we shouldn't be freely giving out the criteria to become a Scratcher. This makes it way too easy for a troll to become a Scratcher and cause a lot more damage than they could as a New Scratcher, which completely defeats the purpose of the New Scratcher status.

The post does not matter. A scratcher can have 600 posts AND remain a new scratcher. Also, to become a scratcher, you need to be registered for one month, but after that, you need to click mark all topics as read and wait 24 hours. Then, you get promoted.

But what is wrong with asking?18yuj was just wanting to know how to become a scratcher.

You need to have over 10 comments, and 3 projects. It depends on how well you follow the community guidelines and how well you participate in things. If you are registered for over a month, click the mark all topics as read. Then, wait 24 hours. You should then get promoted.

Yes it does. Without a post or mark as read, the system does not check whether you can be a scratcher.

Actually, that's not how it works at all.
Anyway, PLEASE stop talking about this. We don't want this information readily accessible by trolls.

This topic is pretty much a duplicate of this one over here - so I'll close this one.
