Math Hero Concept

Hello,

This is a project I created in university for a class on using technology in education. I felt it would be good to share it with the Scratch community. The concept of this game is to learn mathematical knowledge in a fun gaming environment. At the moment it is rather short but somewhat challenging; only covering basic addition. The game could be classified as a puzzle/action game with mathematical problem solving. I also have removed the music as the files were too large.

I will be updating based on my schedule.

There is one known bug were sometimes typing numbers on the keyboard repeats the number multiply times and not the intended once.

Most impressive!  I left a couple of thoughts on the project with project comments.  Good luck with it  smile

Re: Math Hero Concept

I have made a few additions/improvements to the functionality of the game. Most notable the music and the ability to skip cutscenes. I have also created a short walkthrough video with some of my thoughts about game production with educational values in it. It is about 3-4 mins long. It does show you the methodology for completing the stages.

Re: Math Hero Concept

Hello,

I have a small update for this project. As of this point I have started development on the real game. As I feel vector graphics are far superior to pixels, I am developing the game based on the Scratch 2.0 graphic capabilities. This means I will not be releasing the game for Scratch 1.4.

I believe I have found all the bugs and errors within the concept and they should be squashed! If you find a bug still - feel free to message me, as I would like to know if I missed something.

Best of luck!

Re: Math Hero Concept

It's all very smooth running and nice looking but I wasn't really sure what I was supposed to be doing until I watched the walkthrough <_< That might just be me though, it seemed pretty obvious once I realised

I would rather be alone than pretend I feel alright

Re: Math Hero Concept

Yes, the real game will have a more involved tutorial. Thank you for the feedback.
