Clones

I have been using the Beta2.0 and I must say the new features are excellent. However, with the introduction of Cloning you really need to add the "Myself" feature to sensing commands so that they can be used by a Clone to test its own data not the data of the parent. .i.e "Video Motion On -> Myself" and "X-Position of Myself"

I know this can be dealt by using the lists to hold the variables you want to use with the clones but this is a very inefficient and messy way to deal with this that a lot of new users to coding are not going to understand.  Also access to these lists if you add 100 items or more for the likes of a level is very slow.

It would also be nice to be able to deal with Layers by assigning a numeric value to layers so that you could specifically set the layers relationships to each other.

Re: Clones

Support. I didn't know they did that, but it would be really annoying.

Tip of the whatever: Don't post in threads older than 2 weeks unless your post will actually be useful.
It's the last day of 1.4! *cries* (quote from NeilWest, rest by me) by the time you read this it probably will be 2.0  sad

Re: Clones

Well the Video motion has a "this sprite" option. Sure that was not there before.  Now need the same on the X-position etc.. sensing data.

Re: Clones

Ah you can access the X-Position and Y-Position and Direction values in the "Motion" section where they are available at the bottom as variables.  Seems an odd way to do this as the sensing drop down brings all the data whether looks (costume # etc) and motion variables together.

But at least using these variables you can make your clones truly independent.
