I'm a Media Specialist at a K-8 school and would like to use Scratch with some classes. I don't know anything about Scratch but want to learn so that I can introduce it properly to my students. I was a programmer back in the 70's (yikes!) so I think I will be able to learn it fairly quickly but, if anyone has ideas to use with a variety of grade levels in introducing Scratch, I would love to hear them.

Hi, and welcome to Scratch. Even though you don't know anything about Scratch yet, it is very easy to learn, and very fun to use. For a good beginner project, I would recommend using a simple sprite and learning how to map key controls to handle certain functions such as, to make a sprite walk, or jump. The Scratch wiki can be a helpful place for finding information on how to build in Scratch.
