In 2.0, people will be able to define blocks (these blocks are called functions, as in real programming). 2.0 will be released within one or two months, and the beta is actually out already.

I understand your idea - that there should be pre made entire scripts avaliable, but I disagree with the idea. Firstly, scratch is designed to make you use creativity and learn, which would be greatly cut if it was effectively done for you. Secondly, it would add a lot of additional space consumption, meaning it takes longer to download for people with slow internet and take up much more storage space on your computer. Finally, there are millions of different possible script combinations all which have different outputs. It would be ridiculous to search through all of those for the single script you require, and even if you limited them then you would rarely find the script you need.


Not to those who don't understand; the suggestion posted is that there should be groups of scripts like that "follow mouse for 10 seconds then think 'Scripts in your posts!' for three."
