Even modified .jars, if you can pirate Minecraft with it, you're not allowed to use it.

That's why mods give out class files and not the pre-packaged .jars.

Why do they not allow you to give out jars? I mean you still need an account to play.

Because people can just remove the login part of the code and just play the game, if people want to remake Minecraft that's a whole new thing, otherwise it's just using the .jar.

At school, I gave my friend a copy of a mod I made that spawns chocolate people that drop chocolate bars when killed. I also made a batch file for him that makes his copy of Minecraft "portable", allowing him to run it from his USB drive on the school computers. He gave that copy of Minecraft to another person, and that person gave it to someone else... And lots of people at school have that portable Minecraft on their USB drives, some with my mod installed and wondering why their copy has chocolate people and other's don't.    I only know a couple of people that actually bought Minecraft.

I like it! I think maybe you should do redstone in that style too, since it's similar to lapis and coal in the way that it drops an item instead of an ore. That's just my opinion, though.

I'm finally getting into more Tekkit stuff, mostly Voltz.
I like Voltz because it's simpler than Tekkit, and I hate Tekkit because it's convoluted.

That would be an amazing pack with mipmapping.

What's mipmapping?   

(I feel as if I should know this)

It's a feature of OptiFine that makes far away graphics smoother by blending the colors. Without mipmapping, distant blocks are ugly and like a zoomed out picture.
