1.4 will be available until 3.0. Why leave? Sure, 2.0 isn't very appealing at first, but surely it's better than nothing? Remember when you started with Scratch for the very first time. It was uncomfortable. Why should the transition to 2.0 be different?

With all due respect, I really think we should get used to being in an uncomfortable environment. Rarely do you learn much without hardship.

The transition to Scratch 2.0 is only a fly above a sea of sharks. I'm pretty sure that, if you decided that you would not let the transition to 2.0 hinder you, it wouldn't. It's just a new interface.

3 years of hard work fighting the sharks on the ST's part. And you're afraid of the fly.

Notify the mods on scratch about this, and hope for the best.

true. We do need 1.4, i saw 2.0 and i don't like it much. I just wanted new blocks and the glitches fixed. Now i go to 2.0 and the site has completely CHANGED. Also the glitches weren't fixed, new glitches were added.

Because it's not finished yet. They're still working on it, and soon they'll fix the glitches...

In my opinion, real languages are simpler than Scratch. Scratch is just "dumbed down".

Actually, Scratch is just as a real language as any other. It just:

1.) Uses objects instead of text
2.) Can't do as much as other languages

Scratch is very similar to Python also, I was just comparing the two languages earlier today.

Well, what I mean simpler, is that you don't have to make workarounds for everything. Reversing lists, sorting lists, averaging lists, slicing, indexing, etc., are included in Python, just to name a few. You have to have slightly complicated workarounds in Scratch for all of those. Also, if you wanted something in Scratch, such as "open URL", you would have to mod Scratch. But you could make it in Python.

Oops (get it?  ), the standard Python library doesn't support averaging, but I made one myself

Thanks for opening up the discussion.  We do care about losing members and we do want the 2.0 site to be a fun and exciting place for people to create and share.  So please keep checking in on the Beta site and letting us know what works well and what could use some more improving.
