music / sound problem once project is shared on scratch site

We just tried sharing our first project from the program onto the site, and though the music loop we programmed works in the scratch file, when we "share" it to the web site, there is no sound accompanying our project. We un-checked the compress sounds and images box but that didn't work either. It's probably something obvious but we can't figure it out. Any help would be much appreciated!

We imported a music sound from the ones provided, and then scripted it to play (loop) forever during the game play.

Thanks!

Re: music / sound problem once project is shared on scratch site

I've never seen this problem before.

I can only think of two possible problems:

You may be using the "play sound" block instead of the "play sound until done", although improbable. Offline Scratch has a built-in looping delay, but Flash doesn't, and this would cause the sound to completely stop working.

Sound encoding might be corrupt. If the file you imported was an MP3, try converting it to a WAV and importing it again.

Re: music / sound problem once project is shared on scratch site

Hi Gravitation,

We used the "play sound until done" and then locked the "forever" control around that; when we test it in our file, it loops successfully. It is just "Xylo 3", a music sound offered through the program; we didn't use any external music files.

In the off chance that something is wrong with the Xylo 3, we could try using a different music sound supplied through the program and see if that works. We can view other projects on the site and hear their audio just fine, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with having the latest Flash or anything.
