Layouts

One thing scratch desperately needs is layouts

Layouts (or rooms, as they are called in game maker) are separate locations in the
projects you can organize your game in. Scratch desperately needs this as space tends to get cluttered for larger projects.

Re: Layouts

What do you mean?  Elaboration would be nice.

You can put separate scripts in separate sprites, if that's what you mean.

Re: Layouts

I understand what you mean, but here's my explanation of why it wouldn't be added:

No real programming has tools to specifically make it easier for game programming. Scratch is meant to be an introduction to that kind of programming, and it's easy to program your own workaround for these "layouts", and you get more experience. On the other hand, Scratch isn't aimed at games specifically. Game Maker, in my opinion, isn't real programming. It's really really high-level, and Scratch is aimed to be the transition between stuff like that and real high-level programming languages, like Python. This is also a pretty big change, so it'll be hard for the Scratch Team to implement, and it'll take long.

So, I don't support.
