A more accurate translation for "Chinese language" would be 中国语.

中文 can refer to anything Chinese, while 中国语 just means the language. Also, if you just wanted Mandarin (doubtful), you could do 普通话.

Lurking more than posting, but still here.

Re: A more accurate translation for "Chinese language" would be 中国语.

But usually it's not needed.
Français means French as a language or adjective, but it's kinda inferred and you don't need to say "The language of French" (la langue de français)

Just like when we say "Speak English!" we normally mean the English language, not English as an adjective. I don't think it matters too much because I still see Chinese scratchers being able to use it.

Also, 中文 means "Chinese the language". Like "Chinese food" is not 中文食物 but 中国食物, so I don't see what's wrong with it.

What is wrong is that there is no Chinese forums on 2.0!

As long as people know what it is then it's fine imo.

um... I think google chrome might have an extension called google keyboard. not sure if that allows Chinese, but I can type French in it (well I could already, but)

if you really need to type something, just leave a comment on one of my projects and I'll try to type it for you.

Thanks for your kindness, but it is ok, because I can only type pinyin and I quit chinese characterization lessons when I was 0.5 years in! I appreciate your kindness a lot.
