Well, most people don't buy expensive concert tickets or $75 DVDs for each TV program or animated movie.

Each one to their thing, I guess.  tongue

You know that isn't anywhere close to paying to see a musician that doesn't exist.
All characters and such in drama have always been fake, with real people working behind them. They have real morals, stories, values, etc. and are a work of art based on the creators emotions and abilities
The only value I see in Hatsune Miku and etc. though, is looking at it from a technical standpoint, as a feat. The engineers are the "real" artist I suppose? Who gets the money from these things?
The one thing I will say is that $75 for the DVD is expensive but probably necessary to keep, you know, a 20-foot holograph running during its travelling show.

I would go, however I would not buy one of those overpriced DVDs. The most recent DVD of one of Hatsune Miku's concert has a retail price of $75. $75 for a recording of holographic singing? Uhh...

Why would you buy a DVD if you could just do what Hi5 did and go on YouTube?

Ikr? I love them, but I would NEVER pay $75.00 to see it. I probably wouldn't even pay $30.00 to see them in concert....

Well then sing your own songs or have someone with an actual voice, with inflections, interpretation, and emotion, sing them!

kind of like how techno/chiptune/electronica music is soulless and stupid because electronic instruments have no emotions and aren't actually real

It's mostly soulless. I still like it though (it's not my fave genre by any means, but I still like it) For me, in music, I care about soul I guess, but what I really care about is story. And techno and all that stuff has story half the time.

Everyone, you do know that Hatsune Miku, and all the others voices, are made off of REAL people's voices? For example, the voice of Hatsune Miku is done by Saki fujita. So really, the voice is real. They just change it a bit to make it sound better, much like "Real" artists. The only difference is that they put an animated character to it.

A real person has to sing it firstd and then they edit it. Technology isn't good enough to create voices from scratch.

Re: Live Anime Concerts?

To be honest it's just like a MIDI keyboard that has one recording of a sound and changes the pitch, but now someone uses a voice instead of a drum/piano/cat dying/dog being dropped on its head etc. people suddenly have a problem with it.

Tupac used a drum machine which works like a MIDI keyboard, despite the fact he did rap himself there's not much difference seeming he was turned into a hologram with "computer generated" music.
