What is a greentext story?

What is a greentext story?
A commonly used method of sharing stories/experiences in concise sentences.
Each line follows a greater-than sign (>), a symbol utilized on some messageboards to indicate a quote.
To further visually separate the quotes from the replies, they are coloured green.
A greentext story literally "quotes" something that has happened the way a regular story does, but as if someone is describing each individual action, often making use of line breaks.
The examples were removed.

Uh.
Well that was certainly a happy ending...
There was this one really demented yet oddly entertaining greentext about Linear Algebra, can't post it though...

>panda shoots waiter and leaves
>asks the police "what happened"

>he continues "he eats shoots and leaves"

I was writing some greentexts during my free time in school today, here's one:
>be me
>feelin hungry
>in the mood for a sandwich
>grilled cheese, to be exact
>went to my fridge, no cheese
>i decide to go to the moon
>because everyone knows the moon is made of cheese
>i hop in my rocket
>too excited to put on a spacesuit
>the rocket walls come apart and explode en route to the moon
>i survive the blast, but i float aimlessly in space.
>i have no spacesuit.
>i gasp for air, only the sound of my deflating lungs escapes my blueing lips.
>i take one last look at the moon
>in all its cheesy goodness
>the stars twinkle away from my vision
>as i slowly fall
>to meet the man himself
>death
>why must you do this to me, god
>i only
>*choke*
>wanted...che-e-e-e...
>my voice trails away, unable to finish that wretched word
>my eyelids droop down
>my mind leaves my brain
>i am dead
>and that kids is why
>you should always buy your cheese from the grocery store
Plus a lot of greentexts usually are inappropriate or NSFW aren't they?

You forgot a comma. That means he literally eats "shoots and leaves".

Either they are sad, demented, or downright perverted.
Most greentexts are the latter...

Hey I'm an amateur. :P
Yeah that's what I said earlier, most greentexts are NSFW...

well technically they are an internet joke and have no real rules as to content or writing style
however yeah mostly they are not scratch friendly

There's no reason that you can't make greentext stories that are appropriate for Scratch - but most of what's already out there on the net isn't. So maybe we should move this to Things I'm Making and Creating and just make our own?
