Are you sure this is safe? Like, it's not spam or sham or anything, right? I never feel comfortable giving out my email to sites like that. How about just writing regular letters and storing them in a box or something until your older?

It's safe - I found the one I made congratulating myself on surviving to Dec. 22, 2012 recently.

I think it's more unexpected to come on a certain date with the email, and therefore you won't be as prepared, which is a good thing. Knowing what you are about to open would just kind of make actually reading it again less satisfying!
