Do any of you guys have artists or bands that you feel like you're supposed to like, but you just can't get into? I'm not necessarily saying you despite it, but you just couldn't get into the whole thing.
OMG I feel the same way! I've been getting into some alternative rock artists, mainly the Killers and the Gorillaz, but there is something about Muse. I like them, but it has a different sound to it (and so do the Gorillaz in that case).

Uh I suppose, but I can't really think of anyone specific right now
I usually don't worry about it because I just like what I like and I don't really care if it's 'in' or not

Joyful Noise//Flame ft. Lecrae
TobyMac's Album 'Eye on It'
Don't Look at Me//Stacie Orrico
And last but not least:
The Harlem Shake
I just love it when TobyMac and Lecrae sing a song together. My favorite song though on TobyMac, 'Eye on It' is the title song when Britt Nicole sings on it.

Don't take it personally, I just detest 80s hard rock

Gorillaz are awesome - I've been listening to them again ever since their music cluttered my recommended videos.

I also really like Gorillaz, Damon Albarn is a genius. Of course I'm also fan of the band.that came before it, Blur. You might not like them, since they're purely a rock band, but their last album, "Think Tank" has a lot of electronica/trip-hop elements that borrow quite a bit from Gorillaz.

I can play sweet child o' mine on guitar, but it's just so hilariously mainstream!

I guess, but if you want to talk about mainstream 80's hard rock, take a listen to "Carrie" by Europe (if that really counts even).

Just listened to the album Failure by the Posies. One of the greatest things I've ever heard in my life. It's also the closest I've ever heard anyone match that Beatlesque sense of melody that's difficult to capture.
