I am trying to download Scratch to my Ubuntu laptop, and the download doesn't seem to exist. Software Center can't find it, Synaptic couldn't find it, and when I tried to do an apt-get from the command line it just said "Unable to locate package Scratch". Am I missing something here? I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 and I have enabled unsupported updates. Please help.

Try clicking this link apt:scratch
It should open Software Centre.

Shows up just fine in the Software Center for me. Running Ubuntu Studio 12.04 atm.
If that really doesn't work, try
sudo apt-get install scratch
on the terminal, or downloading the installer from here.
I don't know if this is just me, but I find the native Linux version of Scratch very unstable: you can't even resize it. So, I ran Scratch 1.4 in Wine and that seemed to run much better.

You're not on the standard Ubuntu distro though are you.

It's got the same repository so that shouldn't affect anything.

^That's right - exact same repositories and even the same Soft Center. Not to mention, I've found Scratch there when using the actual Ubuntu 12.04.
