If your friend wants to leave, let her leave. But if she's simply doing this to attract attention to herself, it's not the best way. It's also considered gaming the community or something. If she just wants attention, I think it'd be best if she leaves so Scratch doesn't get cluttered with everyone's "I'm quitting!!!1!1!!!1!1!!!1!!!" projects.
Sidenote: If she wants to know how many people want her to say, this can be done by comments, something that doesn't get you front paged, rather than remixes, which do get you front paged.
