Last week I clicked on scratch but a strange message came up. The message said:
(in the title) Squeak! [D:\Program files\Scratch\scratch.image]: SCratch.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x77e20520" referenced memory at "0x00000045". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program.
I tried to open Scratch again and again, in many different ways, but this message always came up. I even uninstalled and re-downloaded Scratch. Nothing worked. Please help me!

Seems like the scratch.image file is troubled.
Maybe it didn't download the Scratch files correctly. Try re-downloading, with all applications closed.

Hello beepbeep,
It is not a bug in scratch. It is a bug in windows (Windows XP I guess, i know that message).
Have you noticed this message with other programs too? (IE, Mozilla FireFox,...)
Try to find help at support.microsoft.com (Microsoft support center) Type in you message exactly, but without the memory codes ("0x77e20520" and "0x00000045"). I hope you will find some support about this problem there!
When you can't find help on Microsoft Support, you can use Google, and type in your message there.
When you still can't find any solutions, you still can reinstall Windows... (please don't do that: solving a problem = creating another problem
)

I finally fixed the problem. I got rid of all things related to scratch; restarted the computer; downloaded scratch; installed it; and restarted the computer. Scratch worked. Thank-you to everyone who gave me advice.
