Thanks for putting this out there. I don't get why people bash on Unova for being unoriginal, VOLCARONA IS BASICALLY SOLAR DEITY REINCARNATED AS A MOTH.

That might be because they were some of the first in the sort of "Anime Monster" genre. They were more experimental back then- now they're sort of squeezing as much cash out of them as they can. Like some sort of magical cash-making sponge.

But what do I know? I only grew up with the old TV show- I never got the games :P

EDIT: Oh, and plus, now Pokemon is aimed for a younger audience. The TV show and games alike have changed because of that.

I love pokemon (well, did) I think it's just grown off of hype so it's feeding off of that. The hype will die down eventually

you have digimon out in japan at almost exactly the same time, and that'd be a helluva coincidence if they were both inspired by something that wasnt a forerunner at the same time

Digimon was made 2 years AFTER Pokemon.
