Will Scratch 1.4 projects still be able to be posted?

After Scratch 2.0 comes out of beta, I mean. I wonder. Anyone know? Will the 1.4 website stay intact?

When 2.0 comes out, the 1.4 one will no longer exist.  sad  But all the projects will stay...

Scratch 2.0 can read the .sb project format, so you can upload 1.4 projects there.

Well, the 1.4 website won't be intact, but all the 1.4 projects will be transferred over to the 2.0 website. Additionally, Scratch 2.0 is backwards-compatible, so you can import Scratch 1.4 projects into 2.0.

No blu_spy, even when 2.0 is released, you'll still be able to use the Scratch 1.4 program to upload to Scratch.

Isn't the old site gonna be read-only?

Re: Will Scratch 1.4 projects still be able to be posted?

This site- the one you're on right now- is going to be gone forever. Period. It will be replaced with what you would now call the Beta 2.0 Site. So I'm not sure if 1.4 will directly be able to upload to the Scratch site in the program, but that doesn't matter, because you can save it to your desktop, and import it into 2.0, then post it there.

Once the official release of 2.0 comes out, there will be a downloadable version available, so the only reason I would imagine you would want to use it is the paint editor, and you could also just export all the sprites.

Phew! I thought you couldn't post 1.4 projects anymore!

I was listening to the Death Waltz which made your post seem so much more dramatic and desperate that it probably was.

And yes, this site as you know it will be gone, but it will be replaced with the 2.0 site.

Yeah, I do too.
But I'll eventually get used to it.
