Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two Review

Epic Mickey 2 brings you through a second jouny in Wasteland, a world of Disney's forgotten creations from over 80 years in the past. Now let's start with controls... the controls are all comfortable, all but spraying paint and thinner. To spray paint or thinner, you must hold ZR or ZL and move the right control stick. It is very hard to aim. The art and graphics are pretty good... just like in the first game but HD. The art is pretty good but a little poor quality. Like if you're zooming in on a bush, you can tell that the art might have been enlarged a bit. Now the big dent... the 2nd player AI. In the game, there is drop in, drop out co-op. When the 2nd player is AI controlled, he doesn't always do what you want him to do. He will run around you while you're standing still and play "ring-a-round a rosie" when you're running. The only good part about the AI is that you don't have to control the pannels. (he can control stuff with his remote) This could be a bad thing if you're not lazy. Now about directions... it's hard to know what the heck you're supposed to do sometimes. You could be sitting there fighting a boss for over an hour. I'm not sure if it's just because I'm not too good at it or what. Voice acting and musical numbers is the best part of the game to me. The songs are well writtend as well as the diolauge which suits the characters very well. If you didn't know, Oswald never talked in anything before this. He is voiced by Frank Welker and it for sure suits the character's personalities.

Although this game has it's problems and such... it's a good game really. If you liked the first one, this is the game for you.

Overall rating:
7.5/10.0

I'm back, and did you already review any of the Halo series? I would love to do a series review of it. I can also do Pokemon X and Y or a review of the new Xbox which last I checked its name is still in consideration.

Re: Scratch Gamer Magazine-Now Hiring

Playsation Announcement 20th February 2013

Sony started the event straight away, to what everyone wants to sees, without hassle, the Playstation 4. PS4 and not the Orbis, as rumours suggested.

They came out straight away with some specs of the system. It will have 8GB of GDDR5 RAM, architecturally, it is more PC like, so is easier to develop for (unlike the PS3's cell processing which was hard to develop for, so developers went to the Xbox 360 instead), an x86 CPU and it will have 1.84 teraflops of processing power! (that's quite a few flops)

They showed the controller: the Dualshock 4. It is mostly the same as the previous Dualshocks, but the analogue sticks have a slight dip in the centre, there is a touchpad similar to that of the Vita, a 'light bar', which is essentially PS Move built-in, a 'share' button, which allows users to upload screenshots and videos to various websites and let others spectate their game.

Games announced to be coming for PS4 include Knack (development led by Mark Cerny who has worked on Crash Bandicoot, Ratchet & Clank and Jak & Daxter), Watchdogs (from Ubisoft), a Final Fantasy game (to be shown at E3), Deep Down (from Capcom), Killzone Shadow Fall, Destiny, Diablo 3 (also coming to Playstation 3) and social-racing game Drive Club.

The event lasted a lot longer than expected, it lasted for 2 hours. What we don't know  is the is the release date, price, or hard drive memory size (this will likely be revealed along with the price). We do know that we will be seeing PS4's 'Holiday 2013', so before the end of the year.

Keep reading Scratch Gamer Magazine for the latest gaming news.

Re: Scratch Gamer Magazine-Now Hiring

Halo: Combat Evolved
Halo is a first person shooter game developed by Bungie for the original Xbox and PC. In the first game Halo: Combat Evolved, the Master Chief a cybernetic super soldier, the last of the Spartans fights a war against the Covenant a group of aliens bent on destroying the human race.
As the game begins Master Chief awakens from a stasis chamber aboard the Pillar of Autumn as the Covenant attack the ship, and along with Cortana the AI in his helmet he escapes and lands on the Halo. On Halo the Flood an ancient infection awakens and the monitor 343 Guilty Spark tries to convince Chief to activate the Halo a weapon that could destroy the Flood, but seconds before he activates it Cortana stops him and tells him that all life within a large radius would die if he activated it. Then the Chief detonates the engines in the ruins of the Pillar of Autumn and makes a quick escape well stopping the Covenant from activating the ring and destroying humanity, by destroying the ring.
Halo has great gameplay and a complex plot that keeps you hooked into playing it. With a small selection of about 10 weapons with many different properties it is one f the best shooter games around.
On the 10th anniversary of Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo: Anniversary was released on Xbox 360 with the controls and Graphics of Halo 3, but the weapons and story of Halo: Combat Evolved it is a great second release of a great game.
I rate it 10 out of 10 the best game for the original Xbox by far.

Re: Scratch Gamer Magazine-Now Hiring

Angry Birds Coming to Wii and Wii U... but will gamers care?

Last week, Activision revealed that an Angry Birds game is coming soon to Nintendo's TV consoles but will anyone buy it? Here are three thing that need to be done to make this game a "must have".

1. Something New
Let's face it, pretty much the whole world has played Angry Birds. Shoot brids at pigs. Done! But to make this game a best-seller, they need to do something new. We don't want just the same thing as the mobile version but just with flicking the touchscreen on the Wii U Gamepad and dragging the catapault with the Wii Remote, we need something that makes it stand out from any other version of Angry Birds and if not, those birds will be even angrier than before if they saw the sales charts.

2. Good Price
Why would anyone want to buy a forty dollar Angry Birds game when you can download the whole series for a couple bucks on the iPhone. If they are going to charge over 13 British pounds (20 american/canadian dollars)  with a game that everybody has played before on mobile phones, nobody will buy this.

3. New Type of Bird/Pig
OK... for the past few years, we have had the same thing all the time... and that includes characters. We have always launched the same birds, at the same pigs. If this game had a couple of new characters with super awesome features, this game would have some hope.

And that is what needs to happen if the company wants this game to sell out.

Re: Scratch Gamer Magazine-Now Hiring

What will the future of the 3DS and Wii U be? Lets find out.

To start off, I will do the Wii U. A ton of the games on the console, mostly a lot of launch titles, have taken a hit. Some of the games have been Nintendo Land, New Super Mario bros U, and zombiU,etc., have been very popular on the Wii U. Another thing about the Wii U that really makes it great is the controller. It has a large touchscreen, making it look like a ipad. For some games like New Super Mario Bros U, using the touchscreen can help players progress in the game, with a boost. That  means that the Wii U can have 5 players at once.

Overall, the Wii U is a great console with a great gameplay experience with great games. I see a bright future for the Wii U. Maybe some more Mario games might be coming. I expect some good games in the future.

Next, moving on to the 3DS. It has some really good games that have been released, including some favorites and remakes, as well as a handful of RPG games. With the release of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, Paper Mario: Sticker Star, and other recent games, the 3DS has been pretty high in the sales charts. There are a ton of RPG's heading to the 3DS, like the release of Fire Emblem Awakening, and the newly announced Pokemon X and Y, giving both games a more deserved 3D look with better gameplay.

Overall, the 3DS has been doing great, as it continues to sell more and introduce better games,

I can see a good future for Nintendo as of now, and I hope to see more of it as we progress through 2013.
