The Perfect Game

Here i will list some qualities of the perfect game.

Outstanding Gameplay
Some games play better than others. Regardless of whether it's an exciting new development or an extremely refined collection of gameplay systems that you've seen before. These are games that go above and beyond the call of duty.

Sucks You In
A good game really sucks you in and makes you feel like you're part of its world. Games that pull off this tricky feat dupe you into playing them for hours or days at a time. Wait, is this sort of life-stealing action really a good thing? Best not to think about it too hard.

Good Start
This new game introduces us to a lot of new things, and the end result is that we're left wanting more. These are games that we'd like to see bigger and brighter things from in the future.

Great Story
Not every game needs a story to work, but when games can tell good stories, and tell them in effective, interesting ways, it's worth pointing out.

Outstanding Visual Design
Games with outstanding visual design use their stage as a canvas to convey high-quality artistic design.

Family-Friendly Fun
It's safe for kids, but no so kid-oriented that adults can't enjoy it. This game is something that the whole family can get behind. So when you find your grandmother huddled around the computer at 4 a.m., try to understand, OK?

Unique
It's been said that everything has been done before, and that there's nothing left that's truly unique. There might be something to that, but try to make a game that manages to feel absolutely unlike anything else out there.

Good Boss
Running up to a big guy and jamming on the attack button until he explodes gets old fast. Games that put a lot of thought into their boss battles and deliver epic confrontations that require interesting tacticts are worth a special mention.

Sharp Control
Modern games with sharp control do for their respective games what Super Mario Bros. did for midair control. In the end it just feels right.

Superior Animation
Bad animation can absolutely ruin a game's look. But terrific model movement can save an otherwise unimpressive-looking game. Games with superior animation make movement work in grand fashion.

Great Original Soundtrack
A great original score or soundtrack for a game strikes a balance between playing a background role when things are quiet and pumping up into something huge when the action kicks off. Games that deliver breathtaking music earn this special commendation.

Great Sound Effects
Games have come a long way since the days of coin-collection noises and the door-opening sound from Doom. Games with mind-blowing sound effects and/or effective surrond sound placement have great sound effects.

Variety
Games that try a lot of different things and get a lot of those things right have great variety.

Re: The Perfect Game

The bosses in good games usually need a contraption to kill them. In Blood Omen, you need to beat the guy in a fight then become invisible in the mist, sneak over to the furnace he's on top of and he'll get burnt by the fire (it's a room full of furnaces that he jumps around in and there's mist all over the floor). In Soul Reaver, you need to jump through a window and hold a door open for the giant boss, and if you left it go, the door closes (and if he's under it, he gets hurt).

Re: The Perfect Game

An interesting topic and some good points.  But it is not advertising a game or a project so it doesn't belong in Show and Tell.  Moving it to All About Scratch.

That wouldn't happen, stickies are for scratch related things, this has nothing to do with scratch.

I also like Twenty-Level Games. The type of game that everyone's heard of.

I fall: It's a tragedy. You fall: It's comedy.
Hmph enjoy your fall - I get a lovely spring... without pans of new leaves.
