Joker and the Thief // Wolfmother

What an amazing band! I only got into them a few days ago and I'm loving their retro-rock sound! I'd reccomend them to any fans of Black Sabbath or Led Zepplien

Re: What Music Are You Listening To?

I've recently been addicted to Bandcamp and exploring the various rock and electronic albums they have to offer. There's some really great stuff there, actually, and some bands/artists that seriously need wider exposure.

EDIT - Oh, by the way, I can't believe I just now found about A Flock of Seagulls. Brilliant music, brilliant band. If you like quirky New Wave a la Talking Heads, with some conventional 80's hooks, I really do reccomend this band and their first three albums.

Camilo (The Magician) // Said The Whale

This song is really catchy - reminds me a lot of the 00's poppy punk rock scene.

yes, yes i do.

Re: What Music Are You Listening To?

The funny part is you keep referencing that and I'm not sure it even exists; wasn't that more of in the '90s?

Re: What Music Are You Listening To?

Hm perhaps it started in the '90s and I was just more aware of it then, which wouldn't be adequate
I know a couple of bands that released music like this in the '00s, but I think they were also releasing stuff in the '90s

What bands are you talking about so I can get more of a general idea of this "scene" you're referring to?

Well, uh Relient K, Fall Out Boy, Taking Back Sunday, Panic! At The Disco, and maybe a little bit of MCR?
I keep thinking A Rocket To The Moon, but they're a little closer to pop than the others. They still may pass though as pop punk.

I don't know I always lose at these debates ;C

yes, yes i do.

Re: What Music Are You Listening To?

"Thrift Shop" // Macklemore

Everyone loves it at school (and for good reason) but it's awkward to talk about as everyone only knows two lines.

Re: What Music Are You Listening To?

So, the two most recent number-one singles here in America are just Internet memes.

...This depresses me.

Re: What Music Are You Listening To?

It doesn't depress me. If that's the way the world is going, then so be it. I find it cool that the "Thrift Shop" song is one of only two completely label-free #1 singles on the Hot 100 ever, although I don't particularly care for the song.

I'm listening to "You're On Fire" by They Might Be Giants from their upcoming album Nanobots.

The two most recent ones were Harlem Shake and One Direction.
So 1D's a meme now?
Harlem Shake though... it's just weird how popular that is.

I hate it how memes are clogging the internet.

My favorite song is Rolling in the deep.

True, I guess I do respect it from that perspective.

I love both songs, it's nice to see trap and proper rap get some recognition, whether it's caused by dancing idiots or not. lol

And I'm listening to "With You, Friends (LONG DRIVE)" // Skrillex
