But there's always people figuring out ways around that
Especially for Linux. If people can install OS X on something it wasn't intended to, they can install Ubuntu.

I actually asked on xda-developers (which I am a proud member of ), and I haven't got a reply yet.

It doesn't seem to actually let you install it on your phone. You have to buy a phone with it preinstalled.
Whhaaaattttt? That goes against pretty much everything Linux is supposed to stand for. How can Canonical call this Ubuntu if that's true?

Maybe they're just missing a link to download?

Possible, or they're waiting until it's more complete. If they only make it available for certain phones it will be a sad day indeed.

I just heard on xda that they want some developers to port it to phones (after all, installing a new OS on a phone is way more complicated than on a computer), so we have to wait for specific ports for specific phones.

Bumping for good.
Some interesting announcements have popped up lately. We'll see Ubuntu smartphones on sale in October, and a preview for Nexus and Nexus 4 will be available for download February 21st.
Canonical has also revealed some concept art of core apps. They're aiming for concise, elegant apps that aren't a pain to use - exactly why I love Linux. Sounds like my kind of phone. Shame that acquiring devices is so darn expensive over here. :c

Update/Bump
There's another announcement happening in about 2 hours. It's supposed to be about an Ubuntu tablet (judging by the not-so-cryptic cryptic message on the Ubuntu website. There also is going to be an HTC announcement at the EXACT SAME TIME. Coincidence?
