Yep. It's been 3-4-ish years since the scratch team announced that they were going to make scratch 2.0. We've been waiting a looooong time. Also it's worth noting that people were like this when I&M went, even though they knew the new forum layout was better, they still wanted to keep the old epically disorganised mess.

How so?
1- Most of the changes won't really affect me. (The only one that I really like is that we can upload more than 10mb.)
2- I'm already used to the 1.4 design.
3- I don't really like Vectors.
4- The forums will have to be reset in 2.0.
5- The new version has too many bugs. (But I'm sure they'll fix them...)
6- In 2.0, The quality of my Gmod screenshots doesn't get higher at all.
7- I simply love 1.4. What can I do?1: The changes will affect many others. Especially the cloud variables and cloning, making education with Scratch much more effective.
2: The 2.0 design just has the stage on the left and the scripts on the right. Did you think you weren't going to be able to find the stage or something?
3: Then import your own graphics. The Scratch paint editor was never meant for making "good" graphics anyway.
4: So? Just remake the topics you want. Were you hoping to keep your post count? That's insignificant anyways, don't expect to use that as a bragging right.
5: No... I think they'll keep the bugs there forever. The reason why there's still bugs is because they wanted to reveal the beta earlier to satisfy all those hungry Scratchers who are actually eager to use the new version. And so they can have more people find bugs. If you don't want to use a glitchy version, just stick to 1.4 and pretend 2.0 beta was never public. Just switch when you have to, which is when there'll be significantly less bugs.
6: Maybe they'll increase the screen size. Maybe you should tell them about that. Try zooming in and see if the resolution is bad when zooming in.
7: You can start loving 2.0 since it's better.
1: Still, it won't affect me. Yes, sure it'll be better for a LOT of people, but not for me.
2: I still prefer 1.4 design... I'm already used to it.
3: They could at least let you choose between bitmap and vectors.
4: I don't really like the fact that we'll have to start over...
5: I'll wait until those bugs get fixed then.
6: ... Maybe...
7: Well, that's your opinion. To me, 1.4 is still better than 2.0.

I think it looks more stylish and modern though.

I think 2.0 is actually confusing. Plus I'm REALLY used to the current Scratch website.

i have the slowest of internet (slower than you could believe (i cant even watch a youtube vid in 240p without it rebuffering every 10 seconds (not an exaderation))) and 2.0 site is insanley slow on it. it actually once took 3 MINUTES to load a project page, and THEN the project itself. i really hope they keep the style of 1.4 site.
PS: upgrading to faster internet is not a solution for me. apparently, att thinks i live in a "rural" area which means they dont offer hi speed internet where i live.

See, guys? This is a REAL problem with it. Maybe the page loading time is too long for him. That would be a problem, not "I LOVE SCRATCH 1.4 AND IM STUBBORN SO I DON'T WANT 2.0!!!"
Everything that has been complained about before is just preference, which technically is your own fault.

There's nothing wrong with different opinions. You love 2.0? There's nothing wrong about it. But please stop criticizing us just because we prefer 1.4. Also, don't say that we're 'stubborn'. That actually offended me.

I'm not criticising you, just saying that this is preference, so essentially your arguing my point and then saying the same thing.
All of your reasons don't apply to me, but the lone about slow Internet would affect me if I had the same Internet speed as him.
And I don't think you guys should continue saying "Scratch 1.4 stay!" because the Scratch Team put a lot of effort into it FOR us so we can enjoy scratch more. You should appreciate the new version of Scratch.
Again, for the "stubborn" thing, that's your own fault. Your connotation of stubborn may be negative, but stubborn just means unwilling to change. Essentially, you are unwilling to change, so.
It's just like when people call me a nerd or stuff. Most people think its bad, but it just means you're hard working and studious. I think that's good.
Perhaps being stubborn is good. It shows you truly believe in something. It doesn't always refer to pouty little kids.

"Fault" would not be the right word to use. It's an opinion, a preference, not a crime. That's like attacking somebody for liking a different color than you do. Their own problem, maybe, but not fault.

Why does it matter? Scratch 2.0 will still have all the stuff from the old Scratch, so what's to miss?

Okay, how about "cause"?
And "fault" doesn't really have to be bad, it's just the cause/reason.

Thank you so much!!! Most people say "shut up" or "deal with it" or "i don't care". Yeah, the 2.0 site is terrible on my home network, while the 1.4 site takes about 3 seconds to load a page (which is faster than most sites I use) and I love it! I don't get what takes so long with the 2.0 website. I just took a speed test: Ping: 138 ms (whatever that means) Download: 0.26 mbps (terrible) Upload: 0.1 mbps (it takes forever to upload projects). Please keep the 1.4 website because I know there are (at least a few) people that are having the exact same problem I am having!!!!

The speed of the website.

It'll probably be faster when the ST transfers to 2.0, because right now, both sites (for me) are slow since they have to divide up their servers between the two sites. When the 2.0 site gets all of the servers, then it'll be much faster. And, everyone's all like OMG 2.0!!!!! and everyone wants to check it out, so the poor servers have a LOT to handle. Maybe switching to the Mobile version of the site (even though it's ugly imo) will help. But the ST isn't going to keep this site just so that the small amount of people with slow internet don't have to be patient and wait for the projects to load. And you should be greatful that you even have internet. A lot of people don't.
And @ the rest of the people who are like "WE WANT 1.4!!!":
The ST is going to switch to 2.0 no matter what. There's gonna be an archive of the 1.4 site, but the ST's worked SUPER hard on 2.0 to please the people who ACTUALLY want 2.0 to come. If you don't want 2.0, I would suggest that you just quit.

90% of the time, i have no internet. rain? internet goes out. wind? snow? all the same. and sometimes att is lazy enoygh to let our internet go even when nothing is currently wrong. so you can almost categorize me as one of the people without internet. lets take the other day for example: i came home: no wind or anything, just a bright sunny day. i turn on my computer: "broadband dsl link failed to connect". thats what i find at least 5 days a week.

That's why there will be a downloadable version of 2.0, which is one of the things they're currently working on (and if you download the SWF, it has an experimental version).
