If you find an image, right click on it and select "Save image as..." or something similar. Choose where the image saves. After that, go into scratch and click on the folder icon under the screen(assuming you're using Scratch 1.4). Then navigate to where you saved the image and click OK. The image will now be a new sprite in Scratch.
If you want to make it a background, go to the stage, then the backgrounds tab, then click import, and follow the steps shown above. The same works fro sprites.

Using copyrighted images are fine because on Scratch all projects follow the Creative Common license and Fair Use, so we can use any media file we want as Scratch is for educational purposes
