Online Copyright Registration

I couldn't find any mention of this in a search but a link was posted on the eBid forum this morning regarding a website for free copyright registration.http://copyright.co.uk/
I haven't looked into it in any great detail but might make life easier .  smile

Re: Online Copyright Registration

Wha? Why not use Creative Commons? all you have to do is create the CC license and then post it on Scratch, otherwise Scratch copywrites it for you. Usually if you mention you dont want people to use xyz, they won't. However, making some Free to use stuff is fun, ^^

Re: Online Copyright Registration

If you upload it to Scratch, you can't copyright it.

@lund
Actually, no.
The Creative Commons license overrides it.

Yes.

Anyone can just download it from the Scratch site, even if it's copyrighted, because Scratch has the CC license.

If you are using the Scratch site, you are agreeing that anything that you share to the Scratch site can be used by other people.  If you don't want it used, don't share it to the Scratch site.

Moving this to Questions about Scratch, since it clearly doesn't belong in Show and Tell.

My point is you can own the copywriter, saying you OWN this xyz, but allow other people to use with credit/without asking for credit. I think I was misunderstood. ^^

*copyright, not copywriter. Copywriter is someone who copywrites, which refers to writing text (known as a copy) for advertising/marketing/business.

And using the copyright registration only works if you don't upload it to the Scratch website. Once you upload it to Scratch, the Creative Commons license takes hold. Copyrighting the project and uploading the project somewhere else first, then uploading to Scratch doesn't override the Creative Commons license on Scratch, it just doesn't work that way and creates more legal issues than necessary.
