The actual idea that there will be an Equestria Girls is pretty darn likely, especially considering that there are several people who have given a few details about the movie when its existence became known. However, there's no confirmed data that says that the image is real (as far as I know).

^ Yes - the magazine is pretty legit and all, but I have my doubts about the "concept art" too. I think it's a bit poorly done, even for concept art.

if youre talking irl ponies tend to be smaller, like shetlands, than horses, which tend to be what we see when told of horses

It's really offensive, and has a lot of.. stuff in it. Stuff I wish I didn't see.
But it's kind of funny in the way that they have us all wrong.
