Are there any good tutorials for a large audience?

Hi - I'd like to present scratch to 9-12-year-olds as a fun way to learn about programming. Are there any canned tutorials that have been found to be successful and interesting for presenting to a large group?

thanks
brian

Re: Are there any good tutorials for a large audience?

I found that VA Geek Mom (http://vageekmom.com/ParentReference/2012/04/scratch-tutorial/) has tried out scratch, and she posted links to redware (http://scratch.redware.com/node) that have some great videos on how to build simple games. I'll probably follow one or more of those videos for my presentation.

Any other ideas for ways to show large groups of kids how cool this is?

Well, instead of having set project assignments to make, you could allow their imagination to flow on some of them and only say that they need to use 4 variables or something similar to that.

Also, if you're still looking, I found this nice website with a multitude of tutorials on various subjects.

Anyway, hello briancolder and welcome to Scratch! Good luck with your class!
