Disscuss. What was your favorite book? I liked the hounds or baskerville best.

When you say 'Sherlock (book series)' do you mean a literary version of Sherlock or the short stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle?

The Sherlock Holmes canon was a set of short stories about a man (diagnosed with Aspergers IRL) named Sherlock Holmes whom people turn to when they find odd occurrences that need investigating, from the viewpoint of his friend, set in the 19th-20th century. Sherlock is a television series based on the canon set in the early 21st century about a sociopath (self-diagnosed) named Sherlock Holmes who shows up at crime scenes and figures stuff out. There are some similarities (read A Study in Scarlet and watch A Study in Pink, for example), but it's not the same (see whatever the second episode of the first season was, the name of which I forget, although it did have several references to the canon).

Yeah dude
A Study In Scarlet I literally read this week
It was a joke, and "sticking to canons" in TV or whatever is a bunch of baloney
Unless it's shipping
'Cause shipping is idiotic
I do love how demeaning your post is though! You actually thought someone would need who Sherlock Holmes was explained to them.

I really enjoyed the Return of Sherlock Holmes, an all of them for that matter.

Spotted gang? Do you mean Speckled Band? Or am I missing something?
@soupoftomato: I was trying to give the general gist of both canons.

I feel like we're talking about different things when referring to "the first one"
I saw The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes at my school with the one titled about a lady first, and it was a bunch of short stories.
But I have a Complete Sherlock Holmes on my Nook and the first is "A Study In Scarlet", which is a book.

A Study in Scarlet does go first, I think, as it's where Sherlock meets Watson.
After that is... ugh I forget it's about two Indian brothers.
Then comes The Adventures then The Memoirs. I think. That's how it was in my book.
