I listen to a lot of different types of music, but metal is my favorite. \m/
My favorite bands are Metallica, Tool (I don't know if I would consider them metal though) All That Remains, Five Finger Death Punch, Killswitch Engage... I have been on a Dethklok kick lately. I don't think all metal is doom and gloom, but a lot of it seems to be, if you can understand the lyrics, HA. I enjoy listening to skill, anybody can play 3 cords and scream into a microphone, but some of the guitar work, drums, and lyrics in some of these bands are amazing. Others I like to listen to because I seem to enjoy the chaos that because art. My favorite album when I was in 5th grade was the original broadway recording of Les Miserables. The story and feelings in that we're amazing. That just shows a little bit of the variety of music I listen too.
#1 - metal
#2 - musicals (odd, I never really thought about it.)
My 2¢ music is a big part of my life, sometimes I think it was all that got me through high school.

I do like metal, quite a bit actually, but more the classic stuff. My favorite bands in the genre are Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Uriah Heep, and Def Leppard.

Breaking benjamin (as banana500 has already pointed out)
Three Days Grace
Skillet
Raise Against
Killers
Wait, the Killers are considered metal? Last time I checked, they were a pretty polished post-punk/indie rock band. Did they shake things up on their new album or something?
